Better Nights and Brighter Days are Just Ahead

CPAP

CPAP, the abbreviation for continuous positive airway pressure therapy, is a treatment method for patients who have sleep apnea. CPAP machines use mild air pressure to keep the airways open and are typically used by patients who have breathing problems during sleep. More specifically, what CPAP therapy helps accomplish is making sure that your airway does not collapse when you breathe while asleep.

BiPAP

BiPAP (also referred to as BPAP) stands for Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure and is very similar in function and design to a CPAP machine. A BiPAP machine is a non-invasive form of therapy for patients suffering from sleep apnea. Both machine types deliver pressurized air through a mask to the patient's airways. The air pressure keeps the throat muscles from collapsing and reducing obstructions by acting as a splint. Both CPAP and BiPAP machines allow patients to breathe easily and regularly throughout the night. BiPAP’s can also be set to include a breath timing feature that measures the amount of breaths per minute a person should be taking. If the time between breaths exceeds the set limit, the machine can force the person to breathe by temporarily increasing the air pressure.

Mask Fitting for BiPAP/CPAP

A Respirator Mask Fit Test is conducted to ensure the respirator is properly fitted to an individual's face type to provide the safest protection.

Mask Fitting for KN95

According to OSHA, “a ‘fit test’ tests the seal between the N95 mask’s, or respirator's, facepiece, and your face.” It typically takes 15-20 minutes to complete and should be performed when this type of mask is first used and then at least annually. The purpose of the fit test is to assure that the mask fits and seals properly so potentially contaminated air cannot leak into the mask and so hazardous substances are kept out. The fit test must be conducted using the same make, model, and size of mask that the worker will use on the job.

Sleep Study

Polysomnography (PSG), a diagnostic test identical to a sleep study, used to identify sleep disorders which include EEG, EKG, EMG, etc. It tracks a person(s): Blood oxygen level, Blood pressure, Brain waves, Breathing pattern, Eye movements, Heart rate, and rhythm, and Respiration.

We offer a split night study procedure. It is now just $625. Call 478-595-5697 for a free consultation or to schedule your sleep study.

Home Sleep Test

A home sleep apnea test is a very simplified breathing monitor that tracks your breathing, oxygen levels, and breathing effort while worn. It does not fully capture what is monitored with an overnight sleep study. Overnight sleep studies give a more thorough assessment of sleep issues.
